Gwalior fort
Offering a spellbinding view of the entire city, the fort is located on the hilltop. Known for its mesmerizing architecture, the fort is a testimony to the Indo-Chinese artistic relationship of the medieval era. Also called ‘The Gibraltar of India’, the fort has witnessed the rule of several dynasties over hundreds of years.

Suraj Kund
Constructed in the 15th century, the Suraj Kund is famous for its quite ambiance and pleasant surroundings. The small pond offers a majestic view of sunrise and sunset.

Sun temple
Built by the famous industrialist G.D. Birla, the Sun temple is an exact replica of the temple in Konark. The famous pilgrimage spot is dedicated to Lord Sun. The external walls of the temple are adorned with numerous stone carvings that depict Hindu Gods and Goddesses on the red sandstone while the interiors are in pure white marble.

Jai vilas palace museum
Displaying the stunning architecture of the bygone era, Jai Vilas palace museum has the largest pair of chandeliers in Asia and the Durbar Hall in the palace has its walls decorated with golden leaves. Now converted into a museum, the palace displays artifacts and vessels from Italy and France.

Gwalior trade fair
Covering 104 acres and divided into several 'blocks' and 'sectors', the mela is the largest fair conducted in Madhaya Pradesh. The trade fair starts in the second week of January and continues until February. The major attractions of this fair are Kawalis, Haasya Kavi Sammelan, cultural performances, trade of cattle etc.

Gwalior is famous for its handicrafts and leather products. Visit the shops at Rajwada, Lashkar and Patankar Bazaars for various handicrafts and artifacts with a royal touch.
