Major attractions of Dalhousie

Punchpula
Famous for its gushing streams and scenic view, Punchpula is also famous for the Samadhi of the great freedom fighter, Sardar Ajith Singh. Punchpula meaning five bridges is the only source of potable water for nearby villages.

Khajjar
Surrounded by thick covers of deodar and pine trees Kajjiar is often called mini ‘Switzerland of India’. The small town near Dalhousie is a serene picnic spot with an amazing view of the Khajjar Lake.

Rang Mahal
Created as a residence for the royal women, Rang Mahal is today a perfect amalgamation of British and Mughal architecture. The museum inside the palace displays coins, hill jewelry, arms and armor, musical instruments and paintings depicting Lord Krishna’s stories on the wall.

Dainkund Peak
Termed as ‘Singing hill’, Dainkund peak is the highest mountain in Dalhousie. The peak offers a panoramic view of the whole valley and is also a brilliant trekking spot. It is also known as the singing hill as the cool breeze passing through the trees make a musical sound, very pleasant to the ears. You can also enjoy trekking at this hill.

St. John Church
It is the oldest church of Dalhousie which holds sheer historic importance. It was built by the protestant missionaries during the British rule.

Satdhara falls
Located on the way to Panchpula, Satdhara is a mixture of seven streams, believed to have curative properties. Get relaxed in the serene ambiance and very pleasant weather.  The falls is a perfect whole day picnic spot with picturesque sights.

Chamera Lake
Located just 25 km from Dalhousie, the Lake is a beautiful place to visit. It is a reservoir formed by the Chamera Dam.

Shopping in Dalhousie
Explore the well known Tibetan market of Dalhousie for famous handicrafts works, Buddhist paintings, variety of copper and silver 'diyas'.

How to reach
Pathankot airport is the nearest airport from Dalhousie (around 75 km) and the nearest railway station is also in Pathankot. Also, the hill station is well connected by roads to major cities.
