Surat

Surat, the second largest city in Gujarat, served as a major port in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is also the place which played an important role in the national freedom struggle.

Old Fort
Built by Muhammad Tughlak as a defense against the Bhils in the 14th century, Old Fort has beautiful architecture. It now serves as the Municipal Corporation office.

More than a hundred year old, this museum displays an array of arts and crafts of the state.

Dumas and Hajira
These are the amazing sea-side health resorts located very close to Surat. Located near the Arabian Sea, they offer sheer natural beauty.

Rangupavan
It is the largest open air theater in India with 18 m by 10.5 m dimensions. It can accommodate around 4000 people at a time.

Choppati
It is a famous hangout place in the city where you can enjoy snacks like paav bhaji and paani puri. There are big and beautiful gardens here where people come to relax.

Makiapul
It is the ancient port of Gujarat.

Dandi
This historical place is synonymous with Mahatama Gandhi. Ideally located on the coast of Arabian Sea, Dandi is the place where the famous Salt Satyagraha movement was spearheaded by Mahatama Gandhi during India’s Freedom Struggle.

Surat Airport is a domestic airport located in Magdalla which is 11 km from Surat. The city is well connected to major cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc by rail and road.
