Imphal

Govindajee Temple
This famous Vaishnavite temple was established by the former Kings of Manipur. The structure includes 2 domes and a vast congregation hall. The revered shrines of Lord Krishna and Balaram on one side are other attractions.

War Cemetery
Little stone dotted with bronze plaques on the graveyard draws tourists. The monument was developed to commemorate the dead Indian and British soldiers of World War II.

Khonghampat Orchidarium
The land is stretched around 200 acres and houses around 110 rare varieties of orchids. It also includes a dozen endemic species, the attraction of the spot.

Loktak Lake
The famous Loktak Lake offers you the opportunity to enjoy picnic with your loved ones. It serves as the biggest natural lake of freshwater that lies around 48 km from the city.

Manipur State Museum
If art and crafts interest you, then head to the museum that was established in 1969. The museum houses different artifacts that capture tourist’s attention. People can view here war implements, Manipuri costumes, sculptures of forest deities and historical documents.

Red Hill
The hillock reveals its historic importance as it witnessed a fierce battle, fought between the British and the Japanese army during the well-known 2nd world war. A monument was also built here to honor the Japanese Martyrs.

Zoological Gardens
The garden shelters Sangai, which is known as the graceful brow antlered deer. It is found at the base of pine-covered hillocks.
